How to mix 808's and Sub Bass???

I tried create a melody using a sub bass bassline then add have the kicks and 808s to come in later.

But The low end it clashes soo bad between the sub and 808.


Is there a way can I have them go together with out that mess/clash in the low end????

not really you are experiencing the clash of pitch known as beating or beat tones

panning my help to isolate each part but I would just resign myself to not having the 808 kick this time around

You don't need to double up on the bass frequencies, like if I was triggering some long sine waves on my Roland SH-2 from my TR-808 I wouldn't need long booming decays on the 808 Bass Drum because the bass is being provided by the SH-2 ya dig?

Yea, never double up on low frequencies. If you absolutely want to then you can arrange the beat differently. For example, for the verse you can use the bass then for the hook you can take out the bass and add the 808 in. The kick will generally work with the bass and 808.
