Don't ask just do. Chances are you won't do it exactly how the people you like are and it will sound slightly different. Experimentation is the way to greatness
You could try using a plugin like LoopMash to generated a lot of variations of a loop and then export the audio then re-import and edit out the bits you like to create more interesting and varied loops...

You answered your own question in your post...
you need to have signature sounds that carryover between your tracks (synth patch perhaps)
melodic hooks
and drum tracks that have a similar groove between tracks
and yea some ppl have their ways of throwing in weird samples
Trust me, if i had the answer, i definitely wouldn't share it lol. Using other peoples work as a point of inspiration is something that is widely encouraged but i have to disagree. Why? B/c everyone else is doing the same thing. Obviously, if your trying to make something genre specific trap/east coast/west coast you would site a producer from that genre that you enjoy and probably reference their work. On the other hand tho, how does that credit your music as a whole in being unique?
Making your music unique isnt something that can be told. Expiramentation and finding inspiration in sources unyet cited or referenced might be a good place to start.
I'll say again, I'm definitely not the person with "the" answer but can see the same foothill worn and recognize a new path should be taken. Although it's subjective. It's all based upon opinion.
Anyone can credit your music to being "unique". A guitar player accustomed to acoustic music, critically evaluating a synth based composition will find many unique things. A classically trained pianist, dissecting an acoustic performance can find many things unique. Your average listener . . . the list goes on. Who is listening? How do you make your music "unique" to that set of listeners . . .
Ultimately, the real question should be: What makes your "unique" music successful? Is it like todays current trend of using a different sounding snare? Distorted 808? That seems to be the difference. Look at the progression of downsouth producers from KLC>Shawty Redd>Lex (Just an example) It's worked for some of them and unfortunately not for others.
I say look at what everyone else is doing and go the complete opposite direction. Will your music be unique? Yes. Will it make you successful? Thats a whole different question . . .

just dont listen to the radio or any of that bs...make what u think sounds right and before u know it you have your OWN style
I really believe it is about finding your own voice with your musical expression. Watch this video, the speaker REALLY nails what your asking. Plus cool bass solos which is usually boring- except when you're an exceptional bass player.

There is nothing wrong with imitation. Imitation provides you with STRONG insight. Regardless If your a musician or not we all imitate at some point in our careers, whether consciously or subconsciously. And to answer your question a lot of those background noises may have been added by an engineer to keep the listeners attention. Most of the times it comes from a tweaked sound patch, or a tweaked FX sample. I would recommend If you want unique music to collaborate with other producers, engineers, and songwriters, this process almost always produces unique material. I wish you the best, God Bless!
There's alot of ways to stand out from other music producers. One is take music lessons, this will help you understand music theory, music notation and pitch. Check out a post I did on music programs and how two schools I went to help me learn music productions and internet marketing... Good Luck
