how do you make a good transition from the chorus to the rest of the song. There are many things I do like
    • playing almost the same notes but changes the instrument (to a more mellow or energetic one)
    • Having a build up where the drums speed up
    • having the opposite to a build up where for a split second the music goes silent or certain instruments

What you think is good for a transition?

Switch instruments to complement the feel of the piece, add drops where you silent tracks, go up or down an octave, mess with chords, completely switch it up while staying in the same key. I mean, this list goes on and on..

Basically do what gives you that gut feeling, gets you pumped, and feels right for the track(may take some fresh ears so rest on it for a lil). Also try to think from a viewers standpoint and how you'd want them to react to the sounds.

Chorus is all about the climax of the song. This is a very important thing to grasp. Learning how to arrange the song to get that super epic build up in the chorus is what every listener is looking for.

A good example is trance music. If you can learn trance music and learn their transitions between verses/choruses then bring that into rap beats, you will definitely have an edge on most music makers.

I usually make or use some sort of fade effect or sweep. For hip hop songs I might just switch up the melody or add a new layer with a different instrument to work with the main melody.

i usually play half the instruments, maybe some percussion, snares and bass depending on what sounds right. I just slow it down a little bit and hit it hard into the next verse.

Just depends on the record really, a transition can be as simple as reverse crash and a drum drop or snare rolls, instruments changing, etc.

Leave out the kick drums for the last bar of the chorus then have them come back hard when the next movement starts
