How do I get Sub Bass to sound like this?

Heres the example: Pac Div - Never - YouTube

It sounds like its real fat, has alot of presence, real round and punchy. But it doesn't sound like an 808 at all. Doesn't hit, but it still pops out and is relaxed. I love that. Im having a real difficult time emulating this though. Any recommendations? Is this a common preset from an instrument? All the help is greatly appreciated!

theres probably 100's basses and 1000's sound.
so much alteration of sounds make your music sound generic.
    no quick fix.

What u using to make beats

Thats a bass guitar, not an 808.

I can tell you that it is definitely a bass guitar

It doesn't match any of the "cardboard box" kick drums and it is walking and moving through the chords so that it is driving the harmonic movement

So you think its a live bass? Or is it a simulated bass....?

To me it actually sounds live, maybe someone else can confirm. You can get pretty close to that sound with a bass from sampletank tho.

It's a live bass player, too fluid and off-the-grid to be a simulated bass (the overtones are also a dead give away to a long time bass player)

I feel yea. You don't think you can achieve that 'off the grid' by raising the release a bit?
