How do I create Roger Troutman claps?

What you do is layer claps on top of eachother. Add some panned to the left, and some to the right, and some in between. Make sure not all the claps hit at the same time.. there should be a little delay between them to make it thicker.

Then mess with the pitch and reverb.

The "More Bounce" clap is just a bunch of people clapping. They recorded them in a room in the basement of United Sound Systems - the same studio where Parliament recorded their most well-known albums. There are some good threads on recording claps at the tapeop.com messageboards.

thanks
