I want a thick crowd sorta clap. I don't know how to implement it though. Heres an example of what im talking about:

Rick Ross - Valley Of Death - YouTube

All help is greatly appreciated. I have a mic to record on too. If anyone knows any recording techniques OR designing techniques drop them right here!

Hmm IDK exactly but I'd try a few things like maybe a flanger.

If that didn't work I imagine it's just several claps at different pitches and volumes possibly, panned with reverb.

Yeah use a couple different claps, panned to different sides. Then make sure that theyre all hitting at slightly different timing, to get that thickness.

That's easy to do. Ignore the advice above. What you need to do is layer two different claps/snares at different TIMING. Make one hit just a LITTLE earlier than the second one. Timing is the secret, not pitch. Same technique was used in "in da club"

Its a really fast delay, like a couple milliseconds on a regular clap... plus a hint of reverb, again a really short delay with a short onset to make it seem bigger... id suggest trying to get the effect using the simplest delay and reverb you have at your disposal, otherwise things can get pretty messy pretty quickly...

I can demonstrate the effect if you'd like...
