    like that's how they build the song? In that case, you can still start by making the beat and writing the melody and stuff around it. But once you get all the parts written, start with just one part then add the rest on top of it like they do.

    BTW for reggae type tracks... I'm just tryin to get into something new.

    I listened to a Juicy J and DJ Paul track :
    Project Pat - smoke out
    They did some reggae type ****, ya know with those repeating guitars.

    So I put the snare on the 9 and the guitar on the 5 and on the 13.

    Is that right?
