FL Studio question about pitching/time relative to the entire song.

Just something I've been wondering about. Sometimes I will get a decent way into a beat (with a sample in it) (using slicex) or all the way done. Then think, "I want it slower/faster."

So messing around a little bit it always seems like my options are:
1. Don't do anything.
2. Change the pitch of the sample. Then change the notes for every other instrument

I took the one I'm currently working on and exported it and changed the tempo and gave it that screwed and chopped feel which I like on occasion but even then there's no way to track the beat out. So either I'm missing something or my two options are listed above.

To be a little more clear. I have a sample. And I have stretched it to something like +600 cents. I want to get it a little lower which obviously affects the key etc. I've also considered tracking the beat out. Then pitch shifting the .wav's, excluding drums and whatnot, which seems like it might be feasible, but I'm moreso looking for a way to do it in the original project. Specifically for occasions when the beat is not yet complete.
