Filter Sweep...

Im trying to create a filter sweep sound, i think that what you call it anyway. The type of sound Storch uses on most of his songs to transition between verse and chorus.

Im trying to do it on an Alesis Ion. I've set the Osc' to white noise,and put the Re's on the filter up quite high. Then if i play a key and bring down the Frequency on the filter it gives me the sound im looking for, but the sweep doesnt record when i play back from my MPC.

So i guess i need to use the filter envolope to do it...? Ive got close but cant get the sound i want so does anyone know a rough ADSR setting to try or have any advice..?

what?

what are you recording it with? is the mpc playing the sample? have you been able to record other sounds with a similar process?


sounds like you have a recording issue, and thats about it....

You need to make sure the Ion is switched on for sending midi and that Cubase is not filtering it.

Sometimes, and apart from mod wheel and pitch wheel, you need to make sure that things like knob movement is transmitted as midi data.
