Dwyck vs Synthetic Substitution

Primo sampled the drums from synthetic for the drums in dwyck. I have tried smapling those drums, but I can't get the drums without the hi-hat. Also, Primo's kick seems to have alot more kick. Can anyone explain to me how he might have done these two things?
 
That's what I thought. I would EQ all of the high frequencies out in a program like sound forge right?

Can you explain compression to me and how I can do it? Can it be done in sound forge FL or Acid?
 
Theres Compression and Eq in fruity loops, probably in Acid too but I haven't used that program. Since you probably dont have much experience using either, I would suggest searching the forums a little and do some reading, theres plenty of useful tips to be found. Or just open up an Eq and Compressor and start messing with them, it takes years to master these techniques so I would start a.s.a.p.
