So yeah, my question is simple, really simple.
I have been producing electro/house for over a year now and now im really getting in to drum and bass, especially the sub-genre Drumstep.
My question is simple; How do you make a Drumstep drop?

Im thinking in the style of this song:
Rekoil - A Brief Tutorial on Drumstep by Rekoil on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

it seems like it just changes the melody in all ways and is very very high pitched.
I cant tell at all what kind of sound(bass) he is using for the drop.
I would like help with aking these kind of "gliding" basslines.

I use ableton with massive, for your information.

First of all don't listen to the internet. That's going to sound very odd to you, but just don't. In anything Dubstep related you have to find your own sound. Drumstep drops include Vocals (usually) and then a bassline then a drop of dubstep... after you create your dubstep drop lead on afterward with a Drum and Bass flow.

A good example is this song:

so what is your question? Im having a hard time making a suggestion bc Im not sure what the Q is..

how to program a 'wubby gliding bassline'?

you are using massive, to make a bass 'glide' from one note to the next, turn ur voicing to monophonic and enable glide in your osc tab. and overlapped notes will glide based on the time you choose. also, setting LFOs or envelopes to control WT Position and filter position is a good way to get movement in your bassline as well..

and as for drops, a good combination of some riser with white noise or something, a repeating melody or vocal hook (as KillerKraut suggested), a pitch bend up for a few bars and some rolling kicks should all work

What he is doing (if thats what your asking) in Witchcraft is Rob Swire is binding a Distorted Bassline to a keyboard key and manipulating it with the Pitch Bender. The rest is basically the same, afterward he probably straightened out his patterns in a Piano Roll in Ableton or whatever D.A.W he uses. If you own a keyboard you can accomplish this easily, even if you don't you can still do it. Just look up how to use the Piano Roll in whatever D.A.W your using.

My question is how to make a bassline like the one i suggested or the pendulum one, a typpical Drumstep one. You know a heavy but not too low, glidy and unique.

    How is he binding it?
And yes i have some midi-controllers and also my midi-synth has a pitchbend on it.
So i use the pitchbendwith the pitchbend and then i bind(??) it to my synth?
What do you mean with stretch out?

Thank you for answearing this, its really nice and it helps me a lot, your efforts are much appreciated<3

For massive I would make sure of a few things:

    > you are in the right octave on your OSC's

    -12 or -24 usually

    > use the sine shaper and parabolic shaper generously for grit

    > experiment with different waveform combinations (Chrome, scrapyard, moderntalking) are popular ones to start with

    > Use your LFOs to modulate your filter position and WT Pos

What he said, the man knows his stuff.

Try the Escalation waveform as well, very good for dubstep/drumstep.

And what I ment by stretching it out is when you record with a Midi Controller your notes will not be exactly up to the beat. After recording shape them up so they are. As for binding, when I use reason (im sure Ableton has it) I bind a Dubstep sound to a key on the keyboard using the Combinator plugin.
