On the contrary, it's just one more thing not properly understood about Reason...

Reason has an arpeggiator, it's called the Matrix.

- Create a melody with the matrix.
- Connect the note CV to (for example) the pitch of OSC 1 of a subtractor.
- Important! Turn the knob next to the "pitch CV input" 100% open.
- Now play a note in the sequencer or your midi-keyboard and it arpegiates.
If you're not satisfied with the patterns a single Matrix produces, wire a bunch of them together with Spider CVs.

Here's a nice enough example from ReasonStation: arpeggiator demo

Matrix is not an arpeggiator, it's a step sequencer. You can simulate "sorf of" arpeggiator like you've described, but the main purpose of arpeggiation is that you can play any chord live, and arpeggiator will arpeggiate it. You can't do that in Reason.

Btw., I made the demo you've posted :)
