Probably already a genre but it's such a simple way to come up with idea's that I thought I'd mention it...

1/ Take a classical tune

2/ Add heavy hip-hop rythm

3/ Rap over the top

Do you mean sampling a section and looping or just putting drums to the whole thing?

The first has been done to death, the latter, I'm not sure would work but would be interesting.

I prefer the people in hip-hop who try to make classical forms (or something like them) from scratch, like Four Tet or Aphex Twin, if you can call them hip-hop.

Detroit Hip-Hop late 80's early 90's era.
A Detroit original rappin over the whole song(Average Whate Band/Pick Up The Pieces)

I suppose it could be anything that includes old classical music in a noticable way. I think the obvious way is to have the classical music come in only for the chorus. Not a sample as you may have to edit it to fit what you are doing.

Probable done many times before ,but there are some obvious good classical pieces to use which I havent heard yet.
