anyone can identify this sound?

it's a guitar playing two notes each with a slide into them:

phrase is

G slide A
G slide F#

In Tab form this is on the thin E string

E'|----15/17---15\14 ---

repeat ad nauseum

Am I listening to the right sound... it sounds a bit like steel drums? :O

You can probably get it with a clean guitar patch using the pitch bend and a lot of equalization. The guitarist isn't using a glass/metal slide, hes just using one finger to move from one note. You should be able to get the sound in reason. its also got a piano/bell on the notes where hes not sliding. a bunch of instruments stacked will give u results

OK, pitch bend won't cut it because a guitar does not go through micro-pitches as it slides, there are only fixed notes, so at best you would have three notes (G-G#-A) for the upward slide and two notes for the downward slide (G-F#).

Her's a rns of what you could do to replicate the guitar sound.
