I use raw wav audio (kick samples) straight into Cubase, don't use a sampler. Just wondering would I need a ADSR envelope? Does Cubase SX3 come with one?
Well, an ADSR envelope (or any other envelope for that matter) by itself doesn't do anything at all - it's the way a parameter's modulation is applied. I'd suggest reading up a bit on it (here, for example) and/or taking any synth/sampler and trying it out to see what happens & how it works.
