    ok so i got fl 10 i have nexus ez drummer philharmonik all that im gettin these crazy leads and everything is sounding ill but im not really sure how to get my 808s right i dont wanna be like jahlil or lex but i like the way there 808s sounds i have the nexus vintage drum kit and it comes with the tr 808 and i also have ez drummer with 808 samples how do i get that knockin punch 808 and how do they do that when it sounds like the 808 goes up an octave real quick or is that the sub bass please help!!

    Its about EQ and starting with quality sounds to begin with, focus on bringing out the lows and cutting the highs. Then Layer with a punchy kick. Post an example

    ok im pretty good with getting the punchy sound thanks for that but how do they do it when it sounds like the 808 goes up a note than down do i add a sine wave to the 808 kick?

    Emm you go up a note... Thats how I do it you simply go up a couple of notes then down again to create a quick rise.

    It comes from having great 808 sounds and being able to spread them across your keyboard or pitching them on different pads or keys to get them to sound how you want. How you get those 808s are up to you. I have the Gold Baby Tape 808s and those are cool but I prefer to make my own from scratch. This is a video I made on making 808s from scratch and though I used Reason to do this it can be applied to a lot of different synths

    yeah thats deffinatly it what synthesizer would be best on fl for that massive?

    AND make sure that your 808 is in the same key as the rest of the instruments.
