why is my synth part boring?

whenever i don't use a preset or try to copy someone's sound design, but instead try to come up with my own synths, my track ends up being quite boring.
the only difference i notice are
- wave shape is saw / sine / square
- plucky sound or sustained sound
- is either a lead / bass or a pad

how can i be more interesting with my sounds?

I've also learned that your mixing techniques may also have an impact on how "boring" a beat may sound.

A simple pluck is boring.

A simple pluck with delay is a bit better.

A simple pluck with delay and reverb is more interesting.

A pluck chord with delay, reverb, some chorus, EQ, enhancing, stereo separation, etc is awesome.

Some sounds can go a better whay when you create movement into them. Filtering (lowpass, bandpass, comb, or double knotch, with LFOs) can make them insteresting. This movement can also be created by phasing.

Which bass-line are you referring to? The main bass-line sounds like a reese/neuro bass. Btw remember that a huge part of making the sound is in the processing of the synth patch in the mixer channel.

the one around 1:19
it goes really screechy and then drops
i tried high passing + modulation, but i'm not sure if that's what i'm supposed to do.
