What scale does this piece fit in?

Sorry for lame question.
Could not find what scale are these few note intervals I made up for an example.
I heard it a lot as base notes when watching documentary about Christianity (basically oriental, ancient music) and also in some modern music.

IDK, is it a melody, stepping down a scale or progression.. I just know it's very familiar, but is not a standart minor or major.

Thank you

C-B[sup]b[/sup]-A-A[sup]b[/sup]

Quick search of wikipedia (you can still read the underlying html encoded text even with the blackout page over the top) suggests that it could be part of the
Neopolitan minor or major scale

A-B[sup]b[/sup]-C-D-E-F-G[sup]#[/sup]-A
A-B[sup]b[/sup]-C-D-E-F[sup]#[/sup]-G[sup]#[/sup]-A

G[sup]#[/sup] = A[sup]b[/sup]

The first is a modified harmonic minor scale ([sup]b[/sup]2)
The second is a modified ascending melodic minor scale ([sup]b[/sup]2 again)

Was looking at some other stuff I had written on scales a while back (chord/scale theory stuff for guitarists) and came across at least one other scale that fits

B[sup]b[/sup] Dominant Bebop 1 2 3 4 5 6 b7 #7 8

B[sup]b[/sup]-C-D-E[sup]b[/sup]-F-G-A[sup]b[/sup]-A-B[sup]b[/sup]
