It's the main, heavily-reverbed rhythm throughout this song. Surely a sample from somewhere, but what instrument/sound would you classify this as? Comes in at :11 seconds.

If you know where it came from, could anyone suggest songs that have something similar in them as well?
 
Sounds like some kind of snare to me, maybe a rimshot. The cd cover might mention samples but they don't usually list the breaks. Talk to someone who knows breakbeats. Maybe ask the question on the YT page.
 
Sounds like a high-pitched snare - maybe just a processed sample or a piccolo snare. Definitely not a rimshot, though...
