What effects do I have to use to get my Pads/Strings to fade in like this????

It depends on what you are using to make your string/pad sounds. Most hardware or software synths will have some kind of "ASDR" controls (attack, sustain, decay, release; describing the four basic elements of any sound/synthetic waveform, but on some units the controls are marjed differently, but do the same thing).

Anyway, start by playing with/adjusting the "attack" part of the sound. You want a rising, rather than sharp, attack.
