Warm distorted hihat sound. How? (with sample)

Hello guys, I'm new here:hello: , and really enjoying this forum;) . I mainly produce progressive trance, melodic progressive house.. And I really need some help here.
I've noticed that lot of top producers doing variation on hihats. One of them is that warm distorted hihat sound.. Any ideas how to discover that sound? plugins, techniques? Thx.

I'd recommend getting hold of Antares Tube, it's a very useful plug to have, anything from a tiny touch of warm fuzziness to 'tube' driven overdrive.

Hard to say what exactly would have been used to create any type of overdriven/distorted sound, ut there are plenty of freeware plug-ins that would probably do the job for you too, unfortunately, I have recently re-installed Windows so I no longer have my favoutire lists, otherwise I could have linked you to some freewware stuff to try out.

You could head over to http://www.kvraudio.com/ and browse there for loads of cool stuff to try though.
