tropical house drum question

hey guys can someone explain the feel of drums which blend in with tropical house ? to be more precise what kind of kicks ,hats do u go for in tropical house ?

Same as other styles of House, apparently. Boom-clicky bass drum, ticky hi-hat, and pop-y snap snare (various snares to taste), with some claps thrown in for good measure. The "tropical" elements? Timbales, bongos, congas, shaker, other ethnic percussion; reggae instrumentation (organ, guitar, horns), flute and saxophone, steel drums, etc., etc.
