ive been using a sine bass ran through a compressor at 2:1 fast attack and release but when i mix the joint down the bass is still kinda all over the place and im failing to get a distingushable bass line melody that sits well with my song.. so basically i was wondering what everyones process is for making bass lines, what bass you usually go to first, and what compression ratios you guys are using....also any tips for coming up with bass line melodys would be helpful

mono? why? and if i want to compress say a subtacktor bass patch the output is mono so i only get sound out of the left or right speaker when i pass it through a compressor...thats why ive been using the malstrom for bass lines

If you want it tight keep it mono.It will still use both channels(R+L)

check ur room acoustics also. Corners in ur room can exaggerate bass problems.
