Like this snare sound, tried to make one myself, but it didnt sound the same.

I grabbed a big floor tom sample and pitched it up 6 semitones and layered a highpassed snare on top of it. But it didnt sound the same.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

firstly it's layered with a 67% pulse width mod square wave from a synth not a tom.

Secondly the snare itself sound like a 10" deep wood shell, possibly micd by a 12"speaker turned into a mic or the reverse: a hit from the synth is played with a 12" speaker on the batter head and the snare is mic'd from beneath with a sm57 or similar (old-school tricks from teh 80's for getting that big snare sound)

I can make one for you. Just PM me tomorrow when I'm at the studio so I won't forget it. Or hit me on FB - massanbeats.
It's not that hard to make really and you don't need all that microphones for sure.

So I made few snares that are almost 100% same as the example,
if anyone else would like to have them, feel free to hit me up on FB, the link is in my signature.
