Should your main lead always be in mono?

no lol, well maybe depends what frequency its in. If it's higher, it can be stereo. but if it's a lower lead, maybe mono.

The lower frequencies collide easier because there aren't as many (maybe a couple hundred), but higher frequencies rarely collide because there are thousands.

^ that's if you're worried about squishing the mix into a "vertical" mono signal. If it's playing out through a stereo signal, like most songs and speakers are today - it doesn't even matter.


not to mention a lot of the digital leads are already in stereo now, with the wild arps and panning built into them...
