Should you stick with one genre

Is it better to stick with one style and master that style or jump around and experiment with different genres

The former so you can establish a firm identity, the latter is good to challenge yourself and to do it because you actually listen to and have an appreciation for them. We all are on borrowed time in the one life we have so make the best use by having a specific focus, not by being the of all trades, master of none type.

Ya, i agree with the OGBama. If you're looking for a fanbase, you need a specific style...changing your genre/style up will confuse your fans.

If you're making music for like licensing in TV, video gmess and stuff you'll need a wider skillset in multiple genres and styles, but these artists don't really have "fans", ya know. People don't really know who make the tunes for Star wars battlefront or the many aritsts who write music for Mario Bro games.

Both are cool, but if you're looking for fans, stick to a style they can count on you delivering. OR, like a lot of artists do, they have their "genre/style" out for their fans, but also write different styles for licensing on the side away from the public eye.
