scales for emotion

where can i learn about scales and chords. If I want to make an upbeat song, or sad song, angry song.....I need to know what notes to play, instead of ****ing around for hours trying to createemotion but not knowing what key im in.

go to google and search there's a bunch of sites out there. search for chord house its a program that shows u all the scales and chords u need

rythym (sp) and how often chords change also effect how a song feels...

leaving chords stretch out makes a track feel more mellow...

while juming around between comfortable chords ie I V IV will make something seem energetic and familiar/

in general, though try taking music that exemplifies the mood...realize that chords dont necessarily creat emotions- its a combination of how they are played, by what, and what the feeling is between the chord resolutions.
