to sample or not to sample? that is the question

Am I the only one who does not believe in sampling? I think it makes it too easy. You using some ones elses sound and it does not develop your creativity. What do you guys think?

Besides, when you sample you turn those sounds into something new. I love to both sample and make originals... it's good to know how to do both.

What genre are you even producing in? I mean, it's easier to say that when you're producing Eurostep breakbeat electronica (although, come to think of it, even The Prodigy uses lots of samples) than hip-hop or something.
