Ryan Leslie effect?

Whats up guys.
Im trying to figure out how ryan leslie does a certain effect in one of his songs. In the song, I Gets Money, if you listen to the chorus when he says "I", "Gets", and "Money", there is a different effect that is layered ontop of his regular vocal. I thought it was a pitch shift, but i just cant reach that same effect. any ideas?
