David Sudnow has a method that will have you gigging in cocktail lounges,
or whereever, in no time. He's moved to Seattle but his minions
are teaching around the country.

I received the materials for the Sudnow method yesterday.

I comes with a book, 3 cd's, a video tape and two cassettes.

The book is used with the 3 cd's. This is the training seminar. The rest of the package is for working with the two "training" songs, "Misty" being one of them.

This package is clearly targeted for all levels (including newbie) who want to learn to play cocktail lounge style songs.

The first 2 of 3 cd's goes over basic music theory, including note names (staffs are not used), 12 major scales and major, dominant 7th and minor 7th chords.

In order to get the full benefit of this method, experienced musicians should listen to the theory segments of the course as the rest of the course builds on his perspective.

Learning the 12 major scales is emphasized as the important key to being able to successfully apply this method.

Also, this method also trains one to recognize melodies.

I will listen to the 3rd CD tonite.

The remainder of the course deals with learning the two training songs.

The CD's are entertaining as he is playing his keyboard during his lecture.

Information about this method is available from the site:

His teaching materials for home study are only around $62.
Otherwise check his email about teachers in your area.
