That's a pretty broad topic. Considering 40 has been Drake's right-hand-man for the past 6+ years, almost anything you hear coming out of OVO is heavily influenced by 40's style. If you have the time, you should really watch this video. He talks a lot about his production and some of the personal philosophy he has in regards to music. He talks about some of the techniques he's used on different projects over the years as well as how he made some of his signature sounds.

I Wouldnt Say 40 Sticks To A Particular Key. I Read An Interview Somewhere Where He Says He Uses Pianos With Long Attack Times And EQ Fx And People Think Hes Using A Pad. So Try Experimenting With ADSR And EQ On Different Instruments.
