Nailing that 80s e-piano sound in logic (FM synthesis)

Hey everyone,

Been experimenting with new sounds and I was wondering if anyone had experience with emulating some of the really cheesy E-piano sounds of the 80s (DX7/M1) within Logic. Had a quick search of the forum but haven't found much, think people here have far too much taste

I've been trying with the EFM1 and ES2 but there's something really difficult to nail about their specific character. In particular there's a lot of 'chunk' in the initial attack and yet a really bright and metallic sustain. I guess its FM synthesis:

Perfect example: Scritti Politti-World Come Back to Life

Thanks for any tips!

So I listened to the first 20 seconds or so.

But it was enough to take me back to the heady days of the DX7 and the TX812/TX816 (2 or 8 TX1 modules (read DX7 on a card) in a rack box) - it's also using the classic funk bass sounds of said DX7/TX812.

Google for some resources on programming that e piano sound (I'm having trouble with acrobat today for some reason......)
