New to producing, and I use Ableton with MIDI controllers (no analogue hardware as of yet).
Ok not sure how best to word this but how is the best way to create that extended synthy airy string sound? What I mean by that, is the kind of sound that doesn't deviate from its pitch for several bars at a time, and sits like a background? I guess a sine-wave based synth instrument, but would the MIDI data just be effectively a long key press for however long you wanted it to stay at that pitch?
