moving away from sampling-newbe question

i recently purchased kontakt and its an incredible sampler, comes with a nice plethora of sounds. I've been a pro-sampler for 5 years now, but many people around my way dont like nor appreciate sampled beats, and oftenly i feel very limited not being able to compose from the heart.

i'm not good at identifying instruments as well, maybe a guitar, and string, sad isnt it?

what are some instruments that usually compliment guitar melodies?

are there any sites with instrument charts?

Organ, electric piano, another guitar, horns, percussion(congas, shakers, ect)... and of course bass & drums. Take a look at some of the crdits on you non-hip hop CDs. Or try allmusic.com. There, you can find bands/albums you like and check the credits there.

i agree, its just a matter of finding the right instrument that compliments the particular guitar melody
