Hey guys, havent posted in a while.

Im wanting to do a mash-up, like using say.. a Dr.dre instrumental with a 50 cent accapella. Does anyone know about how you can go on this?

Im using CubaseSX, so if you any of you have done this before on CubaseSX, fill me in. Thanks :)

Just get some acapellas and instrumental then mix it together. It's pretty easy to do, just load these files in cubase on separate tracks. All hip-hop songs are about 90 bpm so it will be not that hard to mix it together right.

refer to your cubase manual for audio tempo tool and musical mode for audio files. this should cover the whole tempo-matching process and make mashups a real breeze.

Just a thing to remember when you do a mash up.

Make sure the a cappella fits the instrumental. There's more to it than just lining up the two parts and having them go. Alot of people don't even pay attention to the notes of the vocals versus the instrumental, which makes it sound like garbage. It also sounds alot better if you go along with the initial feeling of the track when choosing an instrumental or vise versa. It's funny that you chose 50 cent with a Dre beat. They seem to go together pretty good with little effort. There's a few already out there like Deep Cover/Disco Inferno and Gin & Juice/Outta Control just off the top of my head.
