For the beat machine i'd tell you to get an SP-404. It's cheap and it's pretty sick. Maybe not as much as an MPC but for it's price it's pretty good. As for the keyboard, what better than the microkorg synthesizer + vocoder.

ASR-10 all the way bro. IMO it blows other workstations out of the water. Most professional sounding too, plus you could get one for pretty cheap. I love mine to death.
