Long 808 sound

Hey guys, I know this question has been used plenty of times before.

I'm using logic 9 pro & I have all my 808 samples but I just cant get them to hit like I see them hit in all these you tube fruity loops videos. I'm looking for that long 808 sound that is heard a-lot today in music. Thank you
 
Get new samples or learn to make your own. Using this technique you can build your own 808 library. To make them hang you need to turn up the decay on the amp envolope. The longer the decay the longer the ring but this does not work very well on samples its easiest to do it on a synth.

The video example is done with Reason but it is not Reason exclusive this can be done with stock logic synths.
