i got shown a new way of doing jazzy sounding chords....by stacking up fourths on top of each other...

i.e c - f - bflat - eflat - dflat

ive been playin chords like that since i was 14 years old. learned from a guy who used to play at my church...dude was a wizard on the boards son, thats my word.

Thanks for the tip but I'm a little lost as only the C-F is a 4th interval.

Perhaps real note triads can be posted of this technique?

Thanks

Logic, got any funky little tricks you'd like to share? I;ve been trying to get my funk and jazz chops up for the past year or so since i moved to new orleans and realized what real music was. I'm starting to get more comfortable with the rootless voicings and all, but i'm still having trouble getting past the 3 7 9 voicings to make it funky instead of just jazzy and mellow. I'm about to tackle some guaraldi and dissect his voicings, but thats also more on the mellow side, so i'm still trying to get down with the dirty dirty funk on piano or organ.
