I only want the drums looped

Hey Guys,

Right now I am making a beat,the drums are finished and I pressed the loop button (Cubase) so that this section gets looped.It worked out fine,but I always play a piano in the background and the problem is that my piano gets looped as well,although I only want my drums to get looped.So how do I do that?The Problem is that I wont be able to play a variety of chords when the same chord gets looped,I hope you understand what I am talking about.

In reason this get's solved by your sequencer running two different modes. Block mode and song mode. The block mode you put your loop in. In the song mode, you then draw in the blocks. You can then record over the blocks you've drawed in. Most DAWs have these kind of possibilities in their sequencer.
