HIIII I just listened to Hudson Mohawke's "Chimes" (youtube[dot]com/watch?v=i4AVUN2Bcms) and besides being blown away, I've been trying to get that HEEAAVY sub-bass kicky thing for a while.
I'm in Logic Pro. I've tried taking an 808 in Ultrabeat, messing with the sustain, and compressing the hell out of it. It sounds pretty bad. I also tried taking a sine wave with a lo-pass filter and a bunch of compression– also doesn't sound good. I know I'm definitely doing something wrong.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
