how many bars in a good loop?

If you are writing a non hip hop sample based song I'd say 8 bars is where you should be aiming at.It may seem alittle far raching at first but,your loop won't sound repetative.2 and 4 bar loops cycle to fast and don't give the listener a chance to hear something new.If you build you 8 bar loop correctly subtle nuiances will have transpired and by the time the loop cycles back around it will sound new again.

I used a 2 bar loop changed the drums and added different intruments.:cheers:

didnt notice the date dam...
