How to make transitions in tones

Hi guys,

I was wondering how to make notes of my melody float over in each other in fl studio (don't really know the right words for it, maybe note transition or crossfade?).
You can hear it very clearly in the bassline in this song by Martin Garrix at around 9 seconds:

I think I know watcha mean?eh...prolly a real guitar bassline cuz the only other way[maybe not] to do that type of upswing transition from one pitch to the next is a guitar synth and modulation/pitch thing on the left side of a piano controller.

There has to be a way to do it in Fl studio, I honestly don't believe this is only possible with 'real' instruments.

Well On everything synthesizer/vst related there's pitchbend and modulation sliders.
Applies to all daws. If you are strictly mouse, then automation.
knob/faders can be edited in realtime with a mouse when record button's bright red anywhere.
Few daws have a slider option that makes a note pitch bend without automation in pianoroll,fl's one of em.
