How to make long snares.

I like that rimshot too, its smoove as hell.
Just use reverb... tame it with eq and compression... or dont tame it, whateverb works for you

You can use a technique that is used on many of those new dubstep songs: white noise layered with a snare. Just set the attack, delay, sustain and release right and you'll get something what you want.

To get that snare/rimshot sound like in the song you posted, all you need is reverb. That is all. Nice clean reverb.
All that layering white noise and using delay are very creative but, thats another song.

All the advice is useful. Something else you wanna try is compressing the reverb your snare's using. Try to bring the fade out of the reverb up a little so you can make it more audible with the snare. Just bringing up the reverb will still make it lose it's decay. It's better to compress the overall volume and give it a more gradual audible fade making a bigger sounding snare. Also remember to EQ the reverb so it doesnt down out the snare.

Super smooth rimshot:)
Use Reverb, and cut low and high frequences on wet signal.
