You try different samples/sounds (use any basic General MIDI set), and pitch then up and/or down until you hit it on the head or get real close...
If I understand what you're looking for (your question seemed a little vague), then the drum sounds you are hearing could be a number of different types of toms tuned rather high... They sound like single-headed toms or Octobans (second time someone asked about those in the last week or so), but you could use other source sounds as well-- try Taiko drums pitched impossibly high, for example (or bongos, congas, etc.)... Experiment, add reverb, find the sounds... Not that difficult.
