How exactly do you get a really nice wet bass?

I'm talking about bass like Kill The Noise uses and others like Six of Lasers etc, it has a really heavy (suppose I could get that by ADT), but wet basses. I've toyed around a bit but I'm rather new to sound design and can't figure out the wet part of it. Is it a lot of distortion of a particular type?

Thanks,
Deakay

define "wet" please - I see the word wet in audio and immediately think 100% effect on the sound.

How are you using the word "wet"? the same? differently?

Like that especially in the drop (where it doesn't have all the high end on the sound), I know what you mean on the wet/dry of like effects and stuff but I can't think of another word to describe the sound!

Thanks,

yeah, it's a reese bass search for that term on youtube and here at fp "reese bass" and you will learn how to make it..........

and the word you are looking for is "rich", as in rich harmonic content, meaning lot's of overtones in addition to the fundamental freq. Start with a Saw wave and go from there......
