How does Swizz Beatz achieve this effect?

What is Swizz doing to the lead synth melody in this song? "Everyday Coolin'" Is it a pitch bend or something? I'm trying to learn how to create that effect. Not really with the same sound, but how to apply it to any sound.

Is he setting up his synth where it automatically makes it sound crazy when he plays the note somehow, or is he using the pitch bend/mod wheel?

Yup theres three things that you can do that can make this sound effect. Most likely your gonna find this option in whatever vst your using but the three things you can use to modify a sound to sound like this is the attack, portamento, and glide
