how does hi-lo (oliver heldens) make this unique basses?

Hi, just like topic says I wonder if anyone can explain to me how or have any guidelines how to do this unique heavy bass sound. Like the kind of basses he uses under his alias HI-LO. I know he said in some interviews that he almost only uses Sylenth, massive and nexus but if anyone just could point me some guidelines on how to make. Cuz I've tried alot but never near to sound like his.

low pass and high pas filters applied to the sound with the cutoff frequency slowly evolving to add more or less bass high frequency content to the sound
