Just to use a popular example: Like something you'd hear in a Metallica song or a Testament track.
I'm just looking for people's input. My recordings always come out either way too weak and buzzy or way to bassy and imposing. Wondering if anyone here has any good practices they like to turn to when working with thrashy, over driven rhythm guitars to make them sound good.
I also feel like I overuse power chords which end up drowning things out more than I want. Makes the song sound too busy and overfilled. But that could just be more setting or eq issues.
I also haven't mentioned compressors because I don't know much about how to properly use them. They might also be something that could help.
