How do you guys go about remixing and give me some tips

Alright so i got the cassie me and you acappella and i want to do a remix to it i'm using fl studio 5, cool edit, vst, and a cheap keyboard as a midi controller how would you go about doing making the remix to it
 
First find the tempo.

Then i would take somethin from the origional like a piano melody and re-create it. Or use the same drum pattern.. Then work around that, and add origional stuff.

Geez... have some patience you haven't even let an hour pass between your original question and your second post...


Anyway... aside from knowing the tempo and the key...

just use your creativity and make a new backing track for the song.

Different people have different philosophies on remixing: some sample the original, some borrow from the melody, some completely recreate it, some change the genre, some change the tempo, some change the key, some change the chords, some add more vocals, etc, etc


you kinda' just have to dive in and do it.

that's all i can think of.
