How Do you End a Minor Melody

If you want it to sound 'complete', then end on the root. If you want it to feel like something's still hanging, you can try ending on the 2nd. It kind of gives it the sound of "almost" being there but not quite IMO. It all just depends on how suspenseful you want it to end.

problem with a minor melody is that unless you use the melodic minor you will never quite get the finished effect you want as the movement from b7-8 (e.g. G-A) is never as compelling as 7-8 (e.g. G#-A)

as oxygen notes finishing on 2 can work, I would suggest, however, that you try something like 1-2-1-b7-1-b7-1-b7-b7-1 (e.g.A-B-A-G-A-G-A-G-G-A) as an ending reinforcing the the idea that you have arrived at your home note
